Pediatric speech-language pathology includes the evaluation and treatment of patients from birth to 18 years old. Common disorders found in the pediatric population, particularly in a private practice setting, include apraxia and other articulation or phonology disorders, autism, language disorders, central auditory processing disorders, and stuttering. Whether your child is demonstrating a delay in language acquisition, is difficult to understand, makes frequent repetitions in sounds or words when speaking, or needs support with their social-communication skills, a licensed speech-language pathologist can work with you to address their needs.

Melissa works with families to determine an individualized therapy plan that keeps the child at the center of the focus. Once goals and objectives have been reviewed, therapy will begin to address the goals that have been set.
Depending on the objectives of the treatment, therapy may be in-person (in the child’s home or in a natural setting), via tele-practice, or a combination of both.
